It’s a level of edge that comes around to being endearing, because it passes so many levels of believability. Maybe you have some weird fetish, or this kind of thing is just amusing you. In regards to the graphic loli suffering plastered on the screen, it’s all there just for you to gawk at. Aya does not, which is what separates her from being an actual character you are meant to take seriously, as opposed to an avatar for projecting suffering onto. all put up with it for some clear, emotional reason. Anyone who’s depressed, suicidal, victims of bullying, etc. Aya Asagiri walks this fictional Earth only to suffer. No friends, no dreams, not even a conviction that “it gets better”. She hesitates to end her life, but why? She doesn’t have anything to live for. And, at the expense of making my most callous remarks to date, there is simply no logic behind her survival. Her entire character is defined by the things that happen to her. You see her in an ordinary day, where she lives through incredible amounts of horrifying things, but at no point do you ever get a sense of who this person really is. Some would tell you this is all an act to make you pity the main character, and while you’re free to do that, I don’t feel that any attempt was made at making Asagiri a likable character, and here’s why: So, in fifteen minutes, we’ve already covered suicide, bullying, rape, animal murder, and domestic abuse. Her only salvation is taking care of a stray cat, which the bullies kill on the next day, right before they send in a JoJo character to come rape her. Then she goes home and gets thrashed around by her brother. She goes to school and gets thrashed around by some bullies. This is the best thing that happens to her on this day. As she sits on the ground in her despair, office men on their way to work mutter to themselves how it’s too early in the day to deal with this kind of bullshit, that they were slightly inconvenienced by her attempted suicide. It wasn’t even trying to take itself seriously half the time, and I can explain this just by looking at the first episode.Īsagiri, the main character, thinks about throwing herself in front of an oncoming train, but hesitates at the last minute. At no point did I ever get the impression that Mahou Site was supposed to be taken seriously. It’s not real, so I don’t need to take it seriously. There are girls in this anime, and they get hurt a lot. Sometimes, I like to keep it nice and simple. I don’t need my damn cartoons to enforce that. Or maybe it’s because I don’t always need a compelling narrative to pick my brain. Maybe I’m just some sick fuck looking to get off. Wow, it’s almost like that was the fucking point or something. “Mahou Site is sooooo edgy!!! It’s just a bunch of shock value!!!” In fact, I present the opposite: you should keep an open mind and keep your brain turned on to understand why a creator would make such a thing in such a way. You may be thinking that this is a matter of “turning your brain off” to enjoy something-ignoring the flaws to indulge in the positives. This anime has knives so therefore it is edgy ha ha ha never saw that joke coming did you. That’s where Mahou Shoujo Site comes in.Ī more accurate term to describe this anime would be “campy”, but fucking nobody uses that term so I’m I think there’s a level of edge that gets enjoyable, because it passes so many levels of believability that I don’t believe it was meant to be taken seriously in the first place. Personally, I don’t use the word as a criticism, because I often enjoy edge a lot. The term “edgy” gets thrown around as some sort of criticism by people who like to sound smart and mature, because they engage with a medium for people half their age.

During the wait, there was a fantastic sunset. By 7:00 PM, many areas around World Showcase were multiple levels deep with fans.Īs they waited for the show, the weather went from perfect to rainy to perfect again. By 5:00 PM, most of the front row locations had been spoken for. As the afternoon continued, more and more fans took prime places around World Showcase. People could be seen staking out their favorite places in the morning. This show was beloved by millions over the years as it was presented nightly.įor the closing night, thousands showed up to pay their last respects. On SeptemIlluminations: Reflections of Earth was presented to thousands in attendance for the last time. After the Millennium Celebration ended, “200” was dropped. Another good point was being able to 'stay safe' in the roped off area whilst the park was emptying at the end of the show.On OctoIllumiNations 2000: Reflections of Earth opened at Epcot as part of Walt Disney World Resort’s Millennium Celebration. I would certainly think about experiencing this event again, especially if they decide to put seating in the area. I particularly enjoyed the tiramisu, rum truffles and the shortbread. Although the portions were small, there were too many desserts and drinks on offer to list them all and certainly more than enough to go around - the staff were constantly replenishing the tables and you can keep going back to re-fill your plate/glass. Each party has their own table but, unfortunately, no seating. It was held in a roped off area just near the 'Port of Entry' and it was great to be able to watch the display without being bumped into or having someone tall (I'm only 5') decide to stand in front of me. I read about the Sparkling Dessert Party and decided to make reservations. We have seen the Illuminations display at Epcot, World Showcase many times and they never disappoint. and the Star Wars fireworks, too.ĭisney have always put on the best firework shows in the world. I highly recommend the cruise as special way to enjoy IllumiNations. However, there are ways that a group of friends or couples (the boat holds 10 passengers) could easily share the cost to make it more affordable. The cost of this cruise was high - approximately $370 for our family for the 1.5 hour charter. We checked in pretty quickly and were on the water and on our way. Due to some rain-related delays and our dinner reservations being pushed back a bit, we made it to the marina at 8:45. Suggested check-in is roughly 30 minutes before IllumiNations is scheduled to begin. Getting there will require you to leave the park via the International Gateway (just beyond the England pavilion) and follow the walking path to the marina. Once the show at Hollywood Studios was over, we docked and concluded our evening.ĭetails for booking can be found on the Disney website (contact #, cost, etc.).Ĭheck-in for the private boat cruise is located at the marina of the Yacht Club Resort. He found a great spot out of the way of the ferries, and we watched the Star Wars fireworks as well. Following the show at Epcot, our captain, Gerry, took us for a cruise by the Boardwalk Resort and to Hollywood Studios. It is a beautiful spot to see the show and a memory that I know none of us will soon forget. The viewing area is just beyond the bridge between the England and France pavilions. We reserved a private pontoon boat with a captain for a group of 9 people to watch IllumiNations. Not worth the $50/person charge and we will likely not attend this party again. They no longer had the fresh donuts, special ice creams, ice cream treats, fruit or cheese trays. They also had cookies, rice crispie treats, baklava, a bread pudding, popcorn flavored gelato, and a few other random options that weren't particularly memorable. Many of the desserts were cold like they'd just come out of the fridge or hadn't fully defrosted yet (cupcake and baklava), or overcooked like the incredibly tough churros. (The line started forming for check in around 7pm, check in started an hour before Illuminations at 8pm, and Illuminations wasn't until 9pm, so that's a lot of standing around at the end of an already tiring day walking around Epcot.) The party had fewer dessert options than our previous visit and what they did have was very underwhelming. Many guests chose to sit on the ground after standing so long for the check in and party time. The party has tables set up but no seating. This was our second time attending the party and we were not impressed the second time around. This review is focused specifically on the Illuminations Sparkling Dessert Party aspect. And if it does, it won’t be a part of the affordable category any longer. There is no denying the fact that projectors just don’t put out enough light to compete with a bright, sunny, open living room. Most projectors require a dim room to produce a crisp picture. If you have a brightly lit room, the image quality won’t exactly be stellar. That’s because the dimmer a screen is, the darker the room needs to be for the picture to stay clear. When it comes to brightness, it can influence your purchase decisionīrightness matters when it comes to deciding between the projector systems and flat-screen displays. So, whether it is watching movies in a theatre-like ambience, bingeing TV shows, or playing your favourite video game, a projector usually outweighs the benefits of ultra-large screens. That’s where it becomes an easy win for projectors, as they offer much larger images that are crisp, clear and do not limit the users to ascertain screen size.Īs opposed to an ultra-expensive flat-screen display, projectors are favoured any given day, as they offer a superb image quality without ripping your pocket off like a high-end UHD TV. Besides, they cost a fortune and require someone to install them. But that’s the practical limit to a jumbo-sized HDTV. Screen size matters when it comes to image qualityĪ good TV screen usually maxes out around 80 inches, although some exceed 100 inches. This is what makes the projector a better alternative. The projection screen absorbs some of those damaging wavelengths, reducing the amount of blue light that reaches your eyes. If you have a projector installed in your entertainment space, the blue light will first hit on your projector screen and not directly pass on to your eyes. While projectors on the other hand produce blue light that doesn’t directly hit our eyes, and the damage thereby is cut down by several times. In the case of a flat panel display, you are going to look straight at the light source while viewing. One major repercussion of high levels of exposure to blue light is damage to the eyes and subsequent destruction of the retina. One of the mainstream factors in TV versus projectors is considering the long-term effects of the blue light that emits from LCD, LED and other variants of a television/flat screen display. Consider the long-term impact of blue light on your eyes Here’s the quick guide that covers key factors to keep in mind while deciding between the plat screen or projector for your home theatre. We have comprehensively analysed both the options in terms of image quality, purchase and upkeep cost, installation process, convenience, impact on your eyes, sound quality and product lifespan. We are here to help you decide which option would best cater to your needs. Don’t let the complexity of decision-making throw a wedge in your entertainment Given the flurry of benefits both offer, the question arises: Projector versus TV - what choice should you make to create a compelling home entertainment experience that would comprise movie marathons with family, gaming fun with friends and rejuvenating listening experience after you have wrapped up your work for the day. They also have a leg-up with 4K and 8K display resolution. On the other hand, TVs have become bigger, brighter and cheaper. The choice has become more difficult as on one hand projectors have become a lot brighter, while consistently remaining affordable in the last couple of years. Should you buy a projector or a flat screen for your home theatre to ensure the most engrossing entertainment experience? Find the corresponding permissions from least to most privileged.Understand the least privileged permission for each API call that the application needs to make using Graph Explorer.Fully understand the permissions required for the API calls that the application needs to make. The security of an application and the user data that it accesses is the responsibility of the developer.Īdhere to these guidelines during application development to help avoid making it overprivileged: Least privilege during application development The user is required to grant (or deny) consent for the requested permission before the application can progress. Whenever an application that runs in a device requests access to protected data, the application should ask for the consent of the user before granting access to the protected data. Consent can be granted in several ways, including by a tenant administrator who can consent for all users in a Microsoft Entra tenant, or by the application users themselves who can grant access. Most applications require access to protected data, and the owner of that data needs to consent to that access. Mitigation: Replace each reducible permission in the application with its least-permissive counterpart still enabling the intended functionality of the application. An entity that exploits a security vulnerability in the application could use the reducible permission for unauthorized access to data or to perform operations not normally allowed by that role of the entity. Security risk: Reducible permissions pose a vertical privilege escalation security risk. The permission is considered reducible here because the less permissive permission grants sufficient read-only access to user profile data. However, the application has been granted the permission. Mitigation: Remove any permission that isn't used in API calls made by the application.Ī reducible permission is a permission that has a lower-privileged counterpart that would still provide the application and its users the access they need to perform their required tasks.Įxample: An application displays the signed-in user's profile information by calling the Microsoft Graph API, but doesn't support profile editing. An entity that exploits a security vulnerability in the application could use an unused permission to gain access to an API or operation not normally supported or allowed by the application when it's used as intended. Security risk: Unused permissions pose a horizontal privilege escalation security risk. However, the application has also been granted the Calendars.Read permission, yet it provides no calendar features and doesn't call the Calendars API. Unused permissionsĪn unused permission is a permission that's been granted to an application but whose API or operation exposed by that permission isn't called by the application when used as intended.Įxample: An application displays a list of files stored in the signed-in user's OneDrive by calling the Microsoft Graph API using the Files.Read permission. The appropriate permissions are the ones with the least-permissive access required by an application or user to perform their required tasks. Avoid security risks posed by unused and reducible permissions by granting only the appropriate permissions. Unused and reducible permissions have the potential to provide unauthorized or unintended access to data or operations not required by the application or its users to perform their jobs. Audit the deployed applications periodically to identify the ones that are overprivileged.Īny application that's been granted an unused or reducible permission is considered overprivileged.Build applications with least privilege in mind during all stages of development.Use the identity platform's consent framework to require that a human consent to the request from the application to access protected data. Prevent overprivileged applications by revoking unused and reducible permissions.Follow the guidance here to help reduce the attack surface of an application and the impact of a security breach (the blast radius) should one occur in a Microsoft identity platform-integrated application. The information security principle of least privilege asserts that users and applications should be granted access only to the data and operations they require to perform their jobs. While cloning efficiency was low (between 6 and 20%), high colony numbers made it possible to identify a colony containing the full-length insert in both cases. Sixteen colonies were analyzed to calculate cloning efficiency ( Figure 3C). A 10 μL aliquot was then used to transform ElectroMAX DH10B electrocompetent cells. To maximize transformation efficiency, the assembly product was precipitated with 100% ethanol and resuspended in nuclease-free water. Two and four fragments were assembled into the pASE101 vector to build 25 kb and 50 kb inserts, respectively ( Figure 3A and 3B). The inserts and vector with 50 bp of homology at each end were amplified using Platinum SuperFi II DNA Polymerase and purified with a GeneJET Gel Extraction Kit. In Figure 3, the GeneArt Gibson Assembly EX Cloning Kit was used to build large DNA constructs in the low-copy pASE101 vector (2). Regardless of your choice, GeneArt Gibson Assembly HiFi and EX Cloning kits are available with both chemically and electrocompetent cells. While either method is suitable, the use of electroporation with electrocompetent cells often provides higher transformation efficiencies, but the process will require an electroporator.Īs such, your method of selection will primarily depend on your lab setup. In this case, simply cut the insert using restriction enzymes, purify, and then add to the assembly reaction with your vector and stitching oligonucleotides.ĭuring transformation steps, bacterial host cells can be prepared to take up foreign DNA using of two methods: electroporation or chemical transformation. This strategy is helpful when working with large (>10 kb) or complex DNA inserts with high GC content or secondary structures. The technique can be used in several ways, including carrying out a cloning strategy without generating a new PCR amplicon, or cloning the same PCR amplicon in multiple vectors without repeating PCR amplification of the fragment. And your downstream uses for it dictate how much you need, what contaminants you can tolerate, and your extraction and purification methods. This approach offers flexibility and enables virtually any possible combination between DNA fragments ( Figure 2). Most experiments start with a piece of DNAeither plasmid DNA or genomic DNA. When doing one- and two-fragment cloning, two or three stitching oligonucleotides can be used with the Gibson Assembly method. Stitching oligonucleotides work as a bridge between the DNA fragments to be joined by sharing half of the sequence with each fragment. How can you use Gibson Assembly when your DNA fragments do not share any homology? The answer is to use stitching oligonucleotides. |
